EA is a business at the end of the day.
Fair? They have a right to do what they want with their product in any given future day from when you spent your money.
What about games in the Playstation 4 store that are now free that weren't back then? Should the people who bought the games in the past be compensated?
BOGO deals at a grocery store, if a sale came up the following day after you stocked up on something, do you deserve to get another free product because you didn't buy it during the sale?
And what of everyone else who bought things?

You had a choice to not buy something in the past. Dont be entitled.

I certainly do not feel 'entitled' else I would be demanding compensation if I did feel that way.
I contribute regularly to EA coffers and could have easily chosen a different plant (or none if the seedium change had been communicated earlier) to purchase in January
Not many left to purchase anymore AS IS

If you make a missing content report they should get back to you.

You just asked how to gmail EA HELP so i told you how to, there are various complaint options and not all get a response.
If it's a missing content case then they usually get back within a couple of days.
