I'm also having this problem with iOS8 beta4.

The update also breaks the game for the Android L beta (and possibly people on 4.4 running the ART runtime).  I get a completely black screen when attempting to the run the game, whereas everything was fine before.

I'm a dev, so I understand I'm running beta software and shouldn't expect a bug-free experience, but come on ... at least test that the darn thing starts.

We're sorry for any inconvenience, but if you are running an unreleased or "beta" version of your Operating System or browser, there is no way for us to assist with issues that arise.  We appreciate your feedback on issues you may experience with the game, and we aim to update our game, if necessary, in a timely fashion when the OS or browser officially launches.  Beta versions are unsupported platforms for PopCap products.

This is fixed for me in their lattest app update that came out Sep/2/2014. Finally I get back to killing those zombies!
