Product: The Sims 4
Platform: PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Each start up.
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Vampires, Vintage Glamour Stuff, Get To Work, Get Together, Movie Hangout stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Upon starting the game, going to the game options, selecting any check box option, checking it, and restarting the game. Go back into options to see the change.
What happens when the bug occurs? Any boxes I had checked previously have unchecked themselves after a restart.
What do you expect to see? Functional checkboxes.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes, however to see if this problem persisted, I removed all of them from the game. It continued.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Changing to a laptop.
Please describe the patch or change you made. I switched over from PC Tower to a more current Laptop. The main difference is that this laptop has Windows 10, where my PC did not.
Every time I check the box to enable script custom content, apply the changes, and restart, the game always unchecks it when I've returned.
I've removed all custom content while I've tried fixing this, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing out the cache, and going through Origin to repair the game.
I thought this was only with the script mods, but it's now applied to every check box option.
I've tried to check other boxes to see if they apply, but any box that requires a check always reverts back upon restart. I tried even adjusting the graphics as a test, and while it remembered the drop down menu selection, it unchecked vertical sync after previously checking it and applying the change.
I didn't have this problem on my previous older tower PC, but since moving to laptop this problem has started to show. This problem has been in since before the recent 11/7 patch.

This can usually be solved by deleting the options.ini file in your documents folder.
You then have to reset everything once but it should then stick.
Good Luck

Thank you so much!
I had tried to go into that folder manually to change things but it hadn't worked. I didn't think to delete it!
That definitely fixed it for me.
As a quick question, would I have to go back in and do this each time I try to make this change now, or was it just a one off?
Thank you again for your help!

Should be fine from now on. It may happen again but it shouldn't on a regular basis-
Good Luck
