We are with you Kiwis!! The NZ dollar and Aussie dollar are only off by a few cents do this pricing policy makes no sense at all. Charge NZ and Australia the same, or charge the $USD price , and let us pay our exchange rate and tax like we always have done. Slapping extra dollars on for yourselves is just greed, theft and makes EA look very bad to all its custoumers worldwide
The trust and morale of your loyal custoumer base in NZ and Australia is at an all time low . Do Something!

I am From NZ, and i fully support this, i am not happy about the pricing and $40 is still way too expensive! and unfair!...I was annoyed this morning to find the two threads i was following got deleted last night! Quit trying to get rid of us EA, we are not going away until it is fair...I am also waiting for the price to drop to a much fairer price. I spent thousands on the sims series over the years and i have felt ripped off in the past for all the sims store content i bought...times have changed, our dollar has been high for a while now, its time to stop ripping us off! I am a dedicated fan, but i will not be screwed either. I am crossing my fingers that we get heard.

Thanks all for the support, we seem to be ignored, which is not nice, I have spent literally thousands of dollars on sims since the sims 1 to now, so I am a bit hurt by being ignored, I do know they see our questioning though because two of our threads on the official forums were deleted, so someone saw it. Very dissapointed in EA not even trying to explain the ten dollar difference to us, surely someone out there care just a little bit about us and would like to explain it mileysad:

I'm utterly disgusted. Their claim that the discrepancy was a mistake is dashed by the fact that NZ is still being overpriced. If everyone who is disgruntled by this delirious **bleep**-up would not buy the game, we may actually get listened to. Sadly, I'm inclined to believe that half the people ranting about it have already, or intend to, buy it anyway.

I won't be, but I'm sure plenty of other suckers will pay $40 it. To be honest by the sounds of it I'm not missing out on much with that pack lol.
I used to just buy every single stuff pack and expansion without even checking out whether they were good or not, and I have most of the non clothing content on the Sims 3 store as well. That's a LOT of money.
No more, I am going to be very selective of what Sims content I actually fork out for now, especially if New Zealand is going to be charged exorbitant amounts with no explanation. Can't wait to see what kiwi tax we're expected to pay for a full expansion!
Hopefully expansions will be on disc and I'll get them on sale, they always end up super cheap in the shops when they've been out for awhile.

I just phoned our local ea help, spoke to a very friendly advisor, he said that unfortuanatly that is not his department he is more there for technical help. But he told me if I would like to contact someone and query our price then it would be the ea nz distributors, I will try my best to get their number and contact them tomorrow, its obvious that we are getting IGNORED over here, which is hurtfull especially since I have spent thousands on sims since sims 1 to now I had every single expansion and stuff pack, I even own 98 percent of the store, so this is very upsetting how we are being ignored here. I will even get in my car and drive over to head office if I must, just hope they are in Auckland LOL else I will have to make a holiday of it. All we want is a reason why we are paying ten dollars extra, we might even find the reason reasonable and settle for 40 but not hearing anything at all, well that just sucks

Hi there, unfortunately I don't have much info on this or pricing systems in general myself. Apparently this is related to differing applicable taxes, but I have no specifics.
AS mcrudd states, the distributer would have more information on this sort of thing.
If and when I can get more/clearer info, I'll share it with folks.
Thanks.
