I have read all of this fixes for this issue and nothing has worked. When loading the game, the in game mouse glitches. It goes away and comes back in a different area of the screen, when trying to find the mouse. This causes me not to be able to properly click on anything. I am playing on a Lenovo Yoga, here are the things I have tried and have not fixed the issue.
I do have a touch screen laptop. I have disabled the touch screen and ended up manually turning off the computer.
I have checked my mouse settings on my computer and pointer trial is turned off.
I am not on any discords, however I have turned off background services and in-game overlay.
I have changed between the different windows in the viewing options.(fullscreen, window fullscreen, and window) none of these solve the issue.
I have updated the driver on my touch pad and USB mouse. I also tried removing the USB mouse, using just the touch pad.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app and Sims 4. I also reset the whole Sims 4 game to new and still having the same issue.
Lastly, but certainly not least I have repaired the games.
As you might imagine this is very frustrating. Please help!

I ended up getting a brand new computer because the issue was not just in Sim 4 it was on my Steam games and the main computer. I unboxed the computer and SURPRISE same issue. Luckily I have found the cause of the issue in case someone else asks. If the screen is a touchscreen (maybe even if it isn't) it is a possibility that the pen sensor for pen and touch support is enabled. Disabling this in Device Manager >Human Interface Device>HID compliant pen has fixed the issue I am having.

@DaMaskEffect To be clear, you disabled the EA App in-game overlay? And this happens in both fullscreen and windowed modes, using both the mouse and only the touchpad, as in, all four combinations?
If yes to both, please try playing in a clean boot:
The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run. Disable the rest as described.
When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled. If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.
Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.

I play on a laptop, and I have been having this issue since 10/18/24. My cursor jumps to the corner of the screen at random times, sometimes when I'm not touching anything and sometimes when I'm trying to select things in game.
I have repaired the game, uninstalled and reinstalled, updated my laptop, tried windowed mode and fullscreen mode and I have already disabled the EA App in-game overlay. I also do not have any mods or cc.
It only happens in game and its basically made the game unplayable, so I don't really know what to do at this point.

Well that worked for about an hr. Back to the drawing board for me.

I did all of that and the problem was still occurring with everything disabled.

I just downloaded the October 2024 update and now everytime I try to load in, my cursor glitches to a random corner of the screen, whether I use my Bluetooth mouth or the TouchPad on my laptop. I can't click on anything, or even exit out of the sims because it glitches so much.

@DaMaskEffect Did anything change between when the game worked again and when it didn't? For example, did you open any other apps, or let an update run, or really do anything at all aside from playing? It seems like the problem is conflicting software, so the question is what was NOT active at first but then started running.
Separately, does it help to switch to DirectX 9 mode? The option is in the graphics settings, in the lower-right corner.
Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to your reply.

@kfrenchie_0401_ Are you using the touchpad, a mouse, or both? If only one, does the problem happen with the other? If you don't have a mouse to test with, it would be a useful test to borrow one.
