Basically I can't cook with an oven or stove. When I click on the fridge to cook the recipient are there but faded out so I can't click them ,all except salad and other things you don't need an oven/stove for) and when I click on the oven the only option is to hire staff.
I have tried fixing the game and also deleting the oven and buying a new one. I also tried moving house but that didn't work either.
Id rather not have to uninstall all my games cos that will take ages...but all other suggestions are welcomed.

So I went into manage worlds and picked a random family and it seems that the other ovens in the game are working but mine! 😭😭😭
This is happening to my Bella Goth, too. She only gets 3 choices to cook (salad, etc.) that don't need a stove, I had to hire a chef to come and cook for them the day I played.
However, I will suggest to do this: try to allow the Sim to make things from the choices allowed, (like the salad.) Then have them make anything else that shows up in their list they can cook. Try this to see if their skill grows a little and perhaps other items to cook will suddenly be available. I'm guessing that some Sims just have absolutely no available skill to cook to begin with.
Once your Sim makes the salad and anything else really simple that IS showing up, the grayed out choices of food in the list may then become available. No game repair required. (I am hoping.)
In my game I created my own chefs Jamie Oliver and Rachel Ray and Margaret Fulton. Even though all of them had a list of things to choose from to cook, they still had to start cooking from the list of Level 1 dishes before Level 3 or Level 5 dishes showed up, which appeared grayed out in their lists at first. cheers.
