The Sims 4 Won't Work After Update

When I loaded a world in the Sims 4, it was in paused mode, but the entire menu to control a sim and play wasn't there, and I couldn't exit the game or go into manage worlds or anything. It happened after I installed the new Cats and Dogs update. Please help!

This is Mod related. Remove all Mods/CC and play without. look for updates where you got it.
