Sims don't show up in lot [ Edited ]

I haven't been able to actually play the game since an update maybe a month ago. I can make sims and build and do all that, but once I try to place a household onto a lot, the lot says the household name, but the sims don't appear and their icons don't show up in the left corner. However, the funds remain, and in the right corner, all the other tabs are still there, but clicking them gives empty windows. The skills and relationships tabs just have "empty string" in the window and simology has "Simfirstname Secondname" instead of the sim's name. I've tried removing my mods folder and even reinstalling the game but my sims still don't show up.

Could you try renaming your entire Sims 4 folder, then start the game, the game will make a new folder. See how that goes. 

If it works, move files over slowly and see what folder is causing the issue.
