How to re-create this bug:
step 1) My toddler from vampire parents aged up into a child.
step 2) I let the child click the change wardrobe option from the dresser and I get a window similar to create a sim. However this is utterly useless as the usual userinterface is missing/buttons are not responding.
To Clarify! =
The only user interface showing is "Save household" "open the gallery" "Notification wall" and "options menu" in the top right corner.
The mentioned SHOWING interface does not respond to clicking with the mouse button. I repeat, nothing happens when they are clicked. (they do respond to hovering, but not to clicking!)
There is no interface for changing the clothes, and this also doesn't pop up when clicking anywhere on the childs body. (again, nothing happens when clicking, but hovering highlights the clothing area of the sims body.)
All I can do is watch as the child goes from idle to insert animations and back to idle, rotate him around, and be incredibly frustrated at how poorly dressed he is.
I would add a screenshot, but that somehow doesn't work as I don't play in windowed mode, and pressing C also doesn't work in this case.
WORST OF ALL!!! There is no way to return to the game, save it, or exit the game. I am forced to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and exit the game as there is literally NO other way to deal with this. I lose all my data from now until my last save and that is, especially for a game like Sims, very VERY BAD!
Please!! To prevent this terrible fate happening to other players AT LEAST fix the part of the interface that allows the player to save/return to the game!
It is bad enough that I backtracked this issue back to FEBRUARY 2017 and it has still not been fixed! If this issue is so difficult to fix at least make it bareable for the players by adding a save/return to the game option for users that end up having their vampire offspring kids change their wardrobe through the dresser!

Do you have any mods or CC (custom content)? Try taking that out.

I removed my mods folder to the desktop temporarily, tried to re-create the bug, and could not re-create it. I only tried once though, so perhaps I just got lucky. I don't understand as all I have are some sweaters/shirts and haircuts. It's hard/impossible for me to believe something as simple as clothing and haircuts can mess up the user interface like that.
No never mind I figured I could try again by using the cheat to get full edit mode in cas and turned the original kid back into a toddler, aged him up with a birthday cake, and could not re-create the bug.
It seems a simple custom content sweater or haircut can severely affect the user interface. Thanks I guess.. This doesn't exactly make me feel better.
I wish they would add a feature for, I don't know.. Sims 5 or something, to allow us to submit custom content to the official library? EA would check it and approve it if it meets the qualifications they set for us, and then users can enjoy custom content without bugs ever again. (Unless they get it from websites instead of the in game library since EA didn't approve that, but that speaks for itself.)
Just trying to think of solutions here so that everyone is happy. (Mainly me, since I really love this game and there are never enough fabulous hairstyles, especially for male sims. Like hello, hairstyle only stuff packs??? Huge hole in the market guys!!! I generally don't buy stuff packs as all I am interested in for my sims are clothes and hair and actual gameplay, not furniture and decorations which is usually the main focus of a stuff pack, but I would buy multiple hairstyle/clothing only stuff packs.)
I hope my suggestions in this reply at least made something useful out of my embarrassing original post.
