Hi all, I've been trying to figure out why my game continues to crash. I did a complete folder refresh and game repair from these instructions (https://simsafterdark.com/diy-troubleshooting-library/how-to-folder-refresh-game-repair/) and first started with placing my old saves into my new game file. My game crashed again, so I'm not sure if my saves are corrupted or if there's something else entirely happening.
I'm playing through Steam / EA app and using Windows 10.

@yasminandlucky A lot of the information in this error report is either extraneous or unusable by regular people, so don't worry about not understanding it. The important details are that TS4_x64 (Sims 4, DirectX 11 version) crashed because of an error with TS4_x64, and the type of error was a breakpoint. This in turn has a few known causes: a bad graphics driver, the game running out of memory, and (occasionally) bad mods. There are probably other causes too that aren't common enough to have stood out.
At any rate, your dxdiag lists a few different kinds of Sims 4 errors, which makes troubleshooting more difficult but also suggests looking in a different direction. Of course if you've added back any mods or custom content at all, the next step is to remove the Mods folder, and please keep testing in new saves just in case there's something wrong with your old ones.
Aside from that, have you overclocked any of your computer's components, or did the person who built the system (if it wasn't you) perhaps do so? In that case, please undo all relevant settings so your components are all running at stock speeds. An unstable overclock can produce errors that look like almost anything else.
Please also list the product numbers of the memory modules you have installed. These will be printed on the modules themselves, as well as the box they came in, and should also be on a parts list supplied by a custom builder. Memory errors can also look like anything else.

It’s completely random, I can’t find anything consistent to pin point it at all. Happens with all my saves, all my households, and all at different times. There’s not one specific thing that I do or click on that crashes the game, it seems to do it whenever it pleases.
Sometimes I play for two hours and it’s fine, sometimes I’m crashing five minutes into a game. It will crash at main screen, build mode, live mode, CAS - everything, just whenever it wants to.

Glad to know i am not the only one.
My game crashes too, no warning, no slowing down, no indication beforehand, the game just closes itself and the ea app pops up. Sometimes i can play hours and it runs fine, sometimes it closes itself within the first minutes.
I removed all mods, still happens and makes no difference at all.
New saves, no difference, happens there too.
It happens since 2 or 3 weeks now and i am getting fed up...

@yasminandlucky Some of the crashes in your dxdiag list a component of the Nvidia graphics driver as the faulting module, so please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, as described here:
The dxdiag also lists a number of errors that have been related to certain BIOS settings (basically a default overclock) on high-end Intel processors. Specifically, the issues are CPU Turbo Boost and (maybe) XMP. So if you get another crash, please look for a BIOS update for your motherboard. Make sure you're viewing the site for the exact model you have. If you see a full release (not beta) that is supposed to address stability issues, install it and test Sims 4 again.
There may not be a newer BIOS version, however. Board manufacturers have been rolling out the updates over the last couple months but may not have covered all models yet. So if you can't find a newer version, or you do install one but it doesn't help, please disable XMP and CPU Turbo Boost. XMP is simple to find; CPU Turbo Boost is likely hidden under Advanced settings and may be called something slightly different.
In case you want to do your own investigating, click Windows key-R, enter perfmon /rel in the run box, and look for any Sims 4 crashes that happen after you reinstall the graphics driver. The driver-related crashes in your dxdiag reference nvwgf2umx.dll, and anything that starts with NV typically belongs to Nvidia software. The overclocked-CPU crashes list python37_x64.dll as the faulting module.
@Liadessa If you'd like help, please create your own thread describing your issue, and attach a dxdiag.

Hi, thank you so much for your help! I updated my BIOS version and followed the steps in your post to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of my graphics driver. However, I'm still not able to play the game without crashes.
I attached a new DxDIag file and I also ran perfmon /rel - although I don't really know how to read it.

Same here as well I’ve been troubleshooting this ever since the update came out before that I was playing my legacy modded save completely fine rarely crashing and only cause of outdated mod interactions since the update I’ve had to remove all my mods and I can’t play for more than 15-30 min before my game crashes it’s completely unplayable even on a fresh install and clean new save I crashed it was running better though up until I tried to add the old household back in. I changed my mind and went to test the new save longer first but the second I switched to live mode from managed worlds I crashed. At this point I have no idea what to do anymore and I just spent so much money on this for my gf and I so we could play together lol now she’s upset hers runs perfectly fine compared to mine
