Sul Sul Simmers!
With today's base game update, we've enabled DirectX 11 (DX11) for PC/Windows players using either NVIDIA and AMD GPU’s.
For Intel or other GPU users interested in enabling this feature, please see the patch notes here for instructions. Please note, if you've made any custom changes via mods, custom content, or the configoverride folder, you may need to remove them if you encounter issues with the DirectX 11 version of the game.
We're creating a thread here to capture any issues or feedback you might have related to The Sims 4 and DirectX 11.
Before reporting an issue in this thread please ensure that your graphics drivers are fully up to date.
If you wish to disable DirectX 11 for the time being, please visit this page for instructions.
If you're reporting a bug or technical issue you believe is related to DirectX 11, please use the following template:
To help us better understand the technical aspects of the issues, we would also appreciate if you could provide a DxDiag to us as well:

My game will not launch no matter what I do. I have tried restarting my PC, uninstalling and resinstalling the Sims 4, using the -dx11 command, and the -dx9 command, and so far nothing is working. I have Windows 10, the base game and Island Living, no CC or mods, and for some reason I cannot get the game to open.

Same. I have Directx 11 but my game isn't working after today's patch. I can log in - but 'resume' button doesn't work. The game just sticks on the loading screen.
Only use MCC Command Centre mod. Removed the whole mods folder but same thing happened saved game won't load. I tried loading my save from the 'load game' button and managed to bring up the map where my Sim lives but when I clicked on the 'play' button - same thing - unending loading screen.
Why is my game broken? It was fine before the patch - never had a problem.
Did some experimenting: First checked that I definitely have Directx11. I do, I checked this against the DXdiag given here in a separate post.
I logged into game, made a new game which worked ok. I logged out - reloaded and the resume button worked ok - loaded me into the new game no problem but it did take a while to load. I put MCC Command Centre back in and logged in - the new game loaded again no problem so it isn't the mod.
Logged out and tried to load one of my previous saves - it wouldn't load - same problem as before - just stuck on loading screen and I can't even force close the game - it's just hung.
Logged back in and tried my new game - worked perfect.
So all my previous saves are broken after this patch. All my games gone. Is there a fix for this?

Can't Alt Tab out of the game when in full screen. It's helpful to be able to do this when you only have one screen.

I am having the same issues as everyone else. I can launch the EA APP, but when I try to launch Sims 4 I receive a message about elevation. I checked google and I have the correct permissions. Tried the "-dx11" and the "-dx9" (at different times) and the game still won't launch. I tried other games that uses the launcher (ex: plants vs zombies) and PvZ launched flawlessly.
I am not using any Mods or CC and my game has today's update (Sept 18, 2024).
