Tragic error after changing screen settings in Sims Medieval

After trying to change the screen settings game stopped working. After pressing "start" the sound starts, but there is no picture, while computer shows that it runs the program. Both restarting computer and reinstalling the game did not help. 

Has anyone got an answer for that?
