Right, so.
Years ago, I got the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection when it was free. I played that game CONSTANTLY, it was my favorite, and it migrated through three computers with me up until the point I needed help with the Origin app (Dragon Age 2 had stopped showing up in my library if I recall), and the support person told me that the Sims 2 was no longer supported, so they were going to remove it from my library.
To say I was devastated was an understatement, they removed it without another word from me and told me they couldn't put it back since it was unsupported. Had I thought to do it at the time, I probably should have screenshotted the interaction, but instead I resigned myself to just not having my favorite game anymore, and started playing Sims 4.
So, color me surprised when I was scrolling Reddit forums today, and saw someone say they had Sims 2 on their EA App. I ran to check if the game was available, and it doesn't show up in the EA App for me.
I'd REALLY like to play it again, it's been forever, but all I can find online about it not showing up for me is that it should either be in my library, or on the app, and neither are true - I assume it's not in my library because it was removed, but my EA App library DOES say I own 4 games, when I only own 3 (Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, and Sims 4), so maybe it is still in my library somehow? I'm not sure.
Any answers with a clue on how to have The Sims 2 show up would be greatly appreciated!

You know what, I totally forgot about that - Yes, actually. When Dragon Age 2 stopped showing on my account, I contacted support and during them restoring my game, there was something about me having a previous account (from before I could really get my own games, so I don't even think I had anything on it) that I had forgotten about. They said they'd merge the accounts, I think, and that Sims 2 wasn't supported anymore.
This was a while ago so that's not exactly how it went down, as seen with me completely forgetting about the whole 'two accounts' thing, but I think that's about right.

@gade10110 , EA Help Support can check your account to see if you owned it prior to the switch from Origin to the EA App. Did you have another account registered with Origin prior to the switch?

Is it still possible to download The Sims 2 from the EA app, if owned? I have the base game and all expansions on disc (I still have all the license keys) and I'm looking into ways to get it running on Linux, using Lutris. Seems like it'd be easier through the EA app, since Lutris supports it. I never owned The Sims 2 on Origin and there doesn't seem to be a way to purchase it. Is it still possible to activate Sims 2 licenses on the EA app?

@e65d75be7675ecc1 , I'm afraid you're out of luck. The game was retired in 2018 and if you didn't claim the CD keycodes on Origin prior to that time, there is no way to do so now. You'll need to find an external disk drive and try to install the game that way.
