Sims Medieval invalid code

Yesterday I purchased the Sims Medieval on Origin and it will not work. I got the product code in the email confirmation. I entered the same code mulitple times on Origin and it just says its invalid. I contacted EA and they say its a problem between Origin and Mac and they are working on fixing it. Yet, from what I have read it has been a problem for people for years now. Does anyone have any idea on how to help me play the game?
