Unfortunately, there no longer is a download from Origin (per the rep I spoke with last night), and I only have the DVD-ROM version.  Thus, I cannot get past the first step of what was posted above, grateful though I was to see that someone else has had success.  Per the rep, there is pretty much no way I will be able to enjoy my game again unless I play it on a system with Windows 7 or thereabouts.  Until I make that happen, I will have to content myself with the renaissance faire getaway in Sims 3.  It's not the same thing, of course, but perhaps I can get a simulated turkey leg or something on a stick.  Large smile

Thank you! This was very simple and easy to follow. At first I thought it was my computer but then I remembered the game working before I had to update to EA. This helped make it work on the EA app which is great because it’s the only game I couldn’t run surprisingly.
