Not sure if it's ok to post that link either so I removed it for now.

 

Just tell people what you googled to find ...

 

I'm unsure what I'm allowed to do and since it's the weekend, I can't really ask the CM. I will try find out what to do tomorrow. 

 

This is definitly not an officially supported fix so you're all be doing at your own risk if you download a dll from the Internet.

OS: Win7 Ultimate 64-bit

Virus: Microsoft Sercuirt Essentials (no non-Microsoft program)

Emulator: No, but could you be more specific if there are certain applications causing an issue?

Other Sims: never had anything on this HD

Repair option did not work

Well I think that the link would be very helpful for other people with the same problem, but I understand that you can't support that solution oficially until it's approved. So, following your advice, I googled for

sims 3 paul.dll download

 But it will be probably easier to find if you add the dll version 

sims 3 paul.dll download 4.1.1.14

The emulator part is just a guess since paul.dll is a part of SecuRom. It's possible that it's not the issue.

 

@Zielonooka125 Yeah, I'm sorry. It's the best I can do atm. I don't work for EA so I need the EA guys to approve this fix if I offer it on the first page of a sticky thread.

Windows 8.1 Pro
What Antivirus Software are you using ?
I wouldn't call them "antivirus software", but I have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SpyBot Search&Destroy
Do you have any CD Emulator software installed like Nero or alcohol or something along this line

Do you have any downloaded version of the Sims 3 or Sims 3 Medevial on your system ?

Hey guys!

 

After change the older PAUL.DLL to a dowloaded version, the game launch normaly! Its works! Yeah, works fine for me too!!!

 

Just download a new PAUL.DLL search in google...

 

and then, put the new DLL in the directory "Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin" or the local with your game are installed substitute the older paul.dll for the version downloaded (maybe create a restoration point or don't delete the original PAUL.DLL, create a backup or paste the original archive in other location). Change the compatibility mode  to a Windows XP SP3 (my case, i have a windows 7 home basic - 64 bits) and toogle the "run in administrator account" in the executable to launch the game.

 

I do this, and launch normally, works for me.

I have Windows 8.1 and an AMD C-60 processor. Also an AMD Radeon HD 6290 Graphics and 6GB DDR3 of RAM

 

And now i complement it:

 

  • What's your operating system?  Windows 8.1
  • The error message you get as shown above I "spoiled" it up in this reply
  • What Antivirus Software are you using? No Antivirus installed. Only the "Microsoft Seurity Essencials" Included on Windows 8.1
  • Do you have any CD Emulator software installed like Nero or alcohol or something along this line  No, the same "ISO Mount" that comes with Windows 8.1
  • Do you have any downloaded version of the Sims 3 or Sims 3 Medevial on your system?  No. Only The Sims 2

 

Ok, now. The solution pointed a few messages below of my first reply WORKED FOR ME

 

I download the "paul.dll" from the FIRSTlink. I searched for:

 

 

sims 3 paul.dll download 4.1.1.14
