How can I summon santa in The Sims 2 Happy Holiday Stuff?

So I've been trying for a long time, ( Summoning Santa ), and no matter how much I look it up, It's not well enough explained...

I'm aware that you need to bake 'santa cookies' next to a christmas tree (Does it have to be next to it?) but also, do you need a chimney? Does it have to be lit? after santa arrives, is it possible to throw a christmas party? does everyone need to be asleep? does it have to be winter if you own the seasons?

Just questions like that...

I would REALLY appreciate it if someone could help me...
