I've never heard of GrumpyLoader. I'll use that for those patches. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any other tips for a safe installation?

@DragonPeaks ,while it may take longer. It's best to install your pack, patch them and then try to start them up to see if they work. This way you can see if there are any particular packs you may be experiencing problems with and by doing this one at a time (installing, patching, starting up) you can eliminate potential problems.

@DragonPeaksGrumpyLoader is a 3rd party program created after The Sims 2 patches started crashing on Windows 8. You can find it on a Mod the Sims thread titled "A word of warning about Windows 8", post #193.
Just like Tremayne said, make sure that each pack is patched and check that it works before you move on to the next one. Do not edit any game files (such as Graphics Rules or 4GB Patch) until you finish installing everything, since that might trigger the patches to run again.
