Does the sims 2 ultimate collection work for windows 8? It doesn't work when

I have sims2 ultimatecollection in windows 8 for pc. it was working fine but its sound is gone now i can hear other sounds on my system other games n everything but not the sims what cud be the problem can anyone plz tell me?

@Reenxxx , found this thread that listed several fixes that many have tried to get Sims 2 UC to run on Windows 8. Make sure that you are running your game in Windows Compatibility mode for Windows 7 or lower.
