Sim City 4 on Windows 10

I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 10 installed, and the disk of Sim City 4 doesn't work.  On Simtropolis, (link) it was said that I can get a free copy of SC4 from Origin with my serial code, which I still have.  How exactly do I do that?

If you are running into issues with Simcity 4, please try the following:

1. A disc versions will not work on newer computers, contact a Game Advisor to receive to a digital download (only if you own the original game)
2. Turn off Origin in-game.
3. Try running in compatibility mode: right click the Simcity 4 shortcut > Properties > Compatibility. Choose a compatibility mode, click apply. Try a different compatibility modes to see if that resolves the issue
4. Right-click Origin and select Run as administrator

Lastly, I cannot guarantee we can get the game working on newer versions of Windows, especially Windows 10. Please see the official requirements below:
