I Can't Redeem my Product Code for SimCity 4 Deluxe

While searching the web trying to get the game to work, I saw a post that said it the game won't work on Windows anymore if it is installed from the disc. After more searching, I found another post that said you could redeem the code in Origin. I am putting the code in correctly, but it keeps telling me it is invalid. How do I get it to work?

Your question isn't clear.  Have you ever played the SC 4 game on any computer before now?  What is the error message? 

There is a conflict between the Origin System and the Reinstall routines that hard media have been using.  Origin only accepts one single registration to one single player account.  The CDs want to force a new registration, even on a reinstall, so instead of using the disk again, a digital download is less trouble for a reinstall.
