After visiting my neighbor my city was deleted

After visiting my neighbor my city was deleted. So the story goes, Last night I was playing SimCity streaming it to my friend on discord when I visited my friend's city. After a bit of loading screen, I got kicked to the main screen with the text "unable to load city at this time". The next day I tried logging in but I saw the same message. First I tried troubleshooting methods seen on the internet. No luck. Tried connecting support but with their help, I could not recover my city. They said it is a bug so that is why I am here to ask for help.

Side notes:

-My friend can visit and see my city.

-I lost half of my city population.

-After creating another city I could not see anything on my original plot.
