Here's another thread i started in addition.
Since my previous post was deleted, i'm just going to leave some helpful details here:
- 40 people have this issue
- My case number is 65802577
- Link to this thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Unplayable-Game-does-not-start-after-EAC-splash-screen/td-p/95...
- Video demonstrating the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ms6qbuW-kBk&list=LLt8PM3FUuTwbybwLskWH2DA&index=1
- All troubleshooting steps have been exhausted, according to the rep.
- I have tried contacting EAC but they did not answer.
Happy 1 Month Anniversary!!
After 4 weeks and a bunch of updates, this issue is still not fixed.
I have sent 2 support forms to EAC, and never got a reply. There is no other way to contact them.
I guess it doesn't matter since EA still got my money, I have not refunded the game, in hopes that this issue will be solved some day, hopefully before the servers empty up and close forever.
What a shame...

Haven't played due to the frustration with the sudden crashes back to the desktop (which have gotten better with subsequent patches), but I attempted to try again today and now keep getting the message, "Launch Error Failed to start the game" after the initial splash window pops up and the light blue bar goes from left to right. This is playing through Origin and I've managed 5 hours of play prior. I'm not doing VR and I'm not overclocked on anything. The forums directed me to the Apex Legends forum for troubleshooting the Easy Anti-Cheat. No change. I did submit a report through Origin, but never received an email response acknowledging submission. The Report ID is 127b571c1015acac. The only recent change is an update to Windows 10 20H2 and prior to that an update to my GTX 1070 drivers to 456.71. Other Origin Games (Fallen Jedi, Battlefront I/II, and Mass Effect 1/2/3/Andromeda are all running fine. I'm currently assuming the latest patch is the cause as it was able to launch prior. Thanks!
Update - Forgot to mention that I tried a repair of the existing game installation. Nothing changed. Did an uninstall, reboot, and re-install. No change.
There was an update to fix the blocked chapter 9 story mission, and now I have the same issue. I've rebooted, uninstalled then reinstalled, no help.
