Keyboard/mouse Star Wars battlefront

Using Steam - PC. I can't play because it says press space and when I press space, click, or press Esc nothing happens. I tried everything I could find online. Updated drivers and disabled overlay's for Steam, EA, and Discord. Also verified integrity of the files. Please let me know if you had a similar issue and were able to fix it. I am going to ask for a refund if I can't find a solution.
