Game crashing to desktop after Downloading game data

Similar to a recent post here, I am unable to get past the Connecting to EA servers/Downloading game data screen. The game just crashes. The last poster managed to resolve the issue by updating their bios, but mine is up-to-date so that's a no-go for me. Any tips or ideas?

OK - IVONA voice I had installed because of Elite: Dangerous was the cause of this.

@lukaskulich good god man... how the hell did you figure out that was the problem? I deleted Ivona and now it's working. Easy anti-cheat never complained about it, and it didn't show up in any crash logs, so wtf?
