Direct X Function Error on Launch

★★★ Newbie

Hello everyone.

I have been getting a Directx Function error whenever I try to load Battlefront

The error says:

DirectX function

"m_renderer-> createSwapChain(&swapChainDesc,

&m_swapChain.assignGet())" failed with E_INVALIDARG ("an

invalid parameter was passed to the returning function. ").

GPU: "NVIDIA NVS 4200M", Driver 38590

I have been trying to fix this issue for 3 weeks; here are some details:

PC info:

  • Dell Latitude E6420
  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2640M CPU @2.80GHz  2.80 Ghx
  • 8.00 GB of RAM
  • Windows 10 Pro 64bit
  • Nvidia NVS 4200M graphics card
  • 250gb SSD

When I reset the PC and install the game it works perfectly fine, but ONLY ONCE.

When I try to play it again it gives me this error.

I have tried:

  • Doing a clean boot
  • Reinstalling the game and Origin
  • Updating/Rolling back the graphics driver
  • Running as Admin
  • Taking off Origin in-game
  • Running in windowed mode
  • Uninstalling/reinstalling Visual Studio C++/Redistributable
  • and a few other things that I don't remember exactly

Please help me, its really frustrating because I know my pc can run it!

Thank you.
