I just bought the game, installed it, tried to play it - to no avail. When I try to start the game I get a black screen and then it crashes:

LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 200] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. Same as others. Tried all solutions, nothing worked with me. No Overclock, all cleaned, reinstalled and updated. Video set as windowed, fps locked etc.

SETUP:

CPU: i3-8350k

GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB

OS: WINDOWS 10 PRO

NVIDA DRIVER: 445.75

RESOLUTION: 1080p, V-Sync activated, Fps locked at 30

@xX-Zeo90-Xx Try rolling back to the previous driver - i think 445.75 doesn't work with SWJFO, see the post immediately before yours

installed drivers version 442.50 and now it works perfectly.

I did not tried drivers v.442.74 because I read on a comment here that they didn't work.

Now it's all fine except for a few fps drops. I played all day without a crash.

Have a try and let us know if it works for you.

Cheers

Today it started to crash to randomically every 1 hour, during normal gameplay (1st time during personalizing lightsaber, 2nd time scanning an enemy after beated him). Don't know what's wrong with this game...

I just accepted the situation. I play untill the Force let me so.

Looking forward for alternative solution.

Cheers

I submitted a bug report for this HERE describing the problem. Please feel free to "Me Too" it and post your experience. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

@Gargamel314 Today i decided to uninstall Origin and Uplay from my computer forever. I really dont care how much money i spent these platforms but enough is enough. These two company try to steal money from us, they sell broken games. We dont need to search solutions for their mistakes. I AM NOT GOING TO SPENT A CENT FROM NOW ON TO THEM

Well, a driver release came out that broke the game. This is a typical problem that's been an issue for as long as there's been PC gaming. There is a workaround, but it's inconvenient, and asking players to stick to a single release for a driver for too long is neglectful.  What i really don't like is how this game is dependent on origin servers, and when the servers get congested, this TOTALLY OFFLINE game won't run. That's' happened to me.

Sorry for yet another post from me. So, based on a suggestion from @xX-Zeo90-Xx I tried booting into Safe Mode and using DDU to totally uninstall my graphics drivers. Then I did a clean install of the latest NVIDIA drivers. I was able to launch to the title screen, but I don't have the time to really test anything. No crash upon launch, though, that's good. Clicking "Clean installation" with NVIDIA driver update may be enough, but it's NOT enough to just update as normal. They dropped a new feature, DLSS 2.0, which may be why this step is necessary.

@RegretfulDog I don't want to give up on the situation. I can't accept that a game can run without a problem on consoles and not on PCs. It seems there is an issue related to Nvidia drivers. Something that is ok at the beginning (fresh installed) and then suddenly, after a game session, it brokes up. I managed to play the game for 20 hours and still have crashes. I want to solve the problem or get close to it.
