Summarize your bug During gameplay my game crashes and freezes. LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 200] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. This has happened in almost every cutscene although occasionally i'll get lucky and I will make it through a cutscene without the game crashing. Crashes between 2-30 minutes of gameplay.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure how to recreate 100% of the time on someone else's computer.
What happens when the bug occurs? My game freezes and proceeds to crash, bringing me to the Unreal Engine crash reporter.
What do you expect to see? .

I have the latest window's update, the latest gpu drivers, the latest bios flash and have no hardware problems as far as i know.

Below is the crash report on the Unreal Engine Crash Reporter. My Gpu and Cpu are not overclocked, nor under clocked.

I've tried lowering the settings as well.

I purchased the game on steam and when i validate the game files, no files are missing.

My pc specs:

I7-7700K

16 gb ram

2x 1080ti in sli

Another crash report during cut scene same error as before :

As far as i know from some quick searching, this isn't a problem with Jedi Fallen Order specifically. I'm assuming it's a problem with either the Unreal Engine or something locally software related, as other's are reporting this same bug/crash on different games all using the Unreal Engine.

If anyone knows of any solution or something for me to try please let me know!

Hey, how do you see those crash files? I only have a .dmp file and I don't know how to debug it

When my game crashes it brings up the "Unreal Engine Crash Reporter" and it just shows that text in the window.

Game crashes after loading in

★★★ Novice

After clicking "continue" and loading for a while, I hear the game sounds for a split second and then the game crashes. I have never had this problem before.

The error code is:

I have the same situation.

I7 6950X

2x 1080ti SLI

The GPU's are NOT overheating (50-52C), the CPU is NOT overheating (60C), I am on the latest drivers, I have tried removing OC, using the Debug Mode and bunch of other "homeopathic" solutions but nothing works.

There is also nothing wrong with my GPU's because I can play other games easily without crashing.

I foresee it being Denuvo bug and then these guys simply fix Denuvo bugs for the next few months, and then the last DLC leaves new Denuvo bugs which never get fixed, just like with all Denuvo games

I think both of you state you have SLI cards....could it be related to SLI??  Maybe disable SLI and see if it makes any difference??

Thanks for the input but SLI is not the culprit.

BUT.

I have uninstalled the game from Steam and redownloaded it via Origin. And then I locked the game at 60fps.

I have hade two several hour sessions in the last two days without a crash so far. To be honest, I don't know whether locking at 60 helped or moving the game to Origin. At this point I have the mentality "if it works, don't touch it".

Once I finish the game maybe I will try experimenting with it a bit more.

Re: Constant crash: Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost.

★★★ Newbie

Just ran into this problem today after everything working just fine after launch.  The only thing that changed was that I updated to the latest nVidia drivers (released on 11/26/19).  I would basically be able to launch the game, but as soon as I got to the mail title screen with menu options the video would start flickering for maybe about 5-10 seconds and then the signal between my card and monitor would be lost and the monitor would start cycling through inputs until finally giving up.

I changed the following which seems to have fixed it.  I had to change the settings in the nVidia experience application, but here's what I changed:

Old value:  2560x1080

New value:  3440x1440 (this is my native resolution)

Old value:  Full Screen

New value:  Full-Screen Borderless

I think the game had problems switching to full screen and that's what caused the issue, but not 100% sure.  So, might or might not fix other issues but thought I would share what worked for me.
