Cant Connect to EA Servers - Xbox One Star Wars Battlefront
This is an attempt to pull together the huge number of connectivity issues posts into something collated so someone, somewhere at EA might care enough to do something.
Background:
Since Christmas Day I've managed to connect to the Ea servers a dozen or so times, all in the two weeks from Christmas onwards. Since then, I have failed completely to connect at all to the EA servers, essentially turning SWBF into a single player game which is clearly not fit for the purpose for which it was bought.
I am a professional Software engineer so I know a bit about what I'm doing (!) and have gone though every 'fix' posted to pretty much every website I can find and no joy.
Details:
- I've tried wired and wireless connections. No difference.
- I have an Open NAT connection type shown on the network settings display.
- I have disabled the firewall completely on my router. No difference.
- I sometimes (very occasionally) get an error message saying that the EA servers are unavailable but most of the time I simply sit staring at a spinning 'connecting' dialog with no feedback even when left overnight.
- When I check network speed (using Microsoft Edge Xbox One app) I am looking at 19ms ping, 60Mbps downstream and 25Mbps upstream. This is a pretty decent connection and seems to be highly consistent.
- I am located in New Zealand.
I am way beyond frustrated, and from the sheer number of issues raised throughout the forum, so is everyone else. EA appears to either be completely beyond caring or unable to do anything to sort this out - time to step up, please!
