how to mod pvz [ Edited ]

So, I am modding PvZ GOTY edition. I am making a death mode mod. I would like to know how to edit/change the health, speed, and damage of plants and zombies, as well as several other aspects of the game, like making pole vaulting zombie jump more, or zombies exploding when killed. Please do not give me a link to the modding section on the wiki, because it didn't help me. I really appreciate your help.

Edit: looking through the files after I patched, I found the src file. I think this might contain what I'm looking for. (stats of plants and zombies) However, I really don't understand the code, if someone could help me out by looking through it (and that's actually the stats.) I'll thank them in my Death Mode Mod.

I have also looked through it, but can't make it out.
