Cant Install Plants Vz Zombies PC

Plants Vs Zombies requires internet connectivity to "popcap.com" and it is unable to install saying that an error occurred connecting to the popcap.com website. However I have internet access and can access the popcap.com website fine - all be it that it redirects to the new EA variant of the site.

How can I install my original Plants Vs Zombies now that the popcap.com site has changed?
