Progress resets itself in Need for Speed :Hot Pursuit on Steam [ Edited ]

I've run into a problem where every time I turn off Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit the progress resets itself. It looks like this:

1. I play NFS HP

2. I turn off the game.

3. I turn on NFS HP.

4. The progress is lost and I have to do everything again.

Is there a solution to this problem? If so, please let me know. It isn't the first time it happened and I'm already tired of doing everything all over again. Please help.
