Multiplayer Mic Problems on need for speed

Me and my cousin recently started playing on need for speed most wanted and hot pursuit, at first our mics worked and we could talk to each other, a couple weeks ago our mics quit working with these games

how did you even get it set up because i have a pair of earbuds that i can disconnect the mic from it but when i put the jack in my computer before starting nfsmw (2012) no one can hear me but i can hear them talking when im in multiplayer

I used to play a popular online multiplayer roleplay fantasy game and my mic was for some reason muted as default. I could hear everyone else but i was muted. Took a while to figure that one out. Altho i used a 3rd party program to actually speak i don't think this is the case here. Good luck non the less!
