money from bids that I did not win are lost

hi guys, this is very frustrating. so i'm bidding on stuff in the auction and the items that I did not win simply disappear. I cannot go back to the my bids tab and 'get bid back' after the item ends. I was able to do this before but it's not possible now. so i've lost quite a bit of money in this whole process. it's rather frustrating. is this a widespread problem?
