I play online with friends in both 'head to head', and 'connected franchise' modes all the time... game is great.
however, one thing we all have constantly said is that we wish there was a mode that didnt assist the player at all.
We dont want the coach to suggest plays, we want the player to be forced to manually choose their own specific formation and play.
we dont want any 'ask Madden' available to the user
and most of all - in connected franchise mode - we dont want the user to have an option to simulate a game, or play "offense only" or "defense Only"... or possibly - if they do select one of these options, we would like it to be marked somewhere so that the other users are made aware that people simmed portions of their game.
while the features we would be disabling are helpful features to younger players, or maybe less experienced players - most of us are young adults who played football and understand formations, and we would like to be able to play one another straight up without any form of game assistance.... or to at least be made aware if our opponent is using game assistance so that we can belittle him.
