Can’t play EA games online

Got a PlayStation 5 after not having a PlayStation for a few years. Come to find out I’m completely blocked from playing online by the whole old email glitch. Where the EA account is perma-linked to my PSN account and I don’t have access to the 10+ year old email to reset the password. The email was deleted long ago for inactivity. Why can’t EA simply disconnect the old unusable EA account? I went through hours and hours of digging on this and it looks like I’m just not going to be able to be an EA customer anymore.
