A Button to Protect the Ball doesn't Work at all !

I have held down L1 to protect the ball weather it's a Running Back .. or Receiver or Tight End .. or on Defense .. like I can understand Power hitting someone .. and that is cool ... but what if you have that ball lockdown held down by holding this button .. because in real life people just don't " Fumble all the time because you hit them .. like I go to the manual online .. and it says to use this button .. but I am hear to tell you that .. This Button is Garbage .. and useless .. ask anyone that is tired of getting hit ..  and you use this button .. and its in effective .. Trust Me .. I KNOW'wwwww !!!!
