Origin stuck in offline mode

I had this issue but it seems all I had to do was exit origin when I loaded it back up it had an update and now seems to be working fine also I use Google chrome so no ie for me to deal with..

Hello I was having the same issue that you were but I had fixed this issue.

Here are the steps I took to fix this problem:

1)  go to your hidden icons tray and right-click on origin, then click on "Quit Origin"

2) Then run origin by clicking the icon on your desktop or wherever your shortcut to start the app is located

3) It will say something about installing an update (for me at least)

4) Sign in after origin has done the update

Everything should be all set once you have done these steps.

Basically origin was giving me a hard time over an update and this is probably the same case for the rest of you.

Origin is a steaming pile of crap.

@doooogs99 I submitted an error report a week ago with still no response and you've swept in with not only the answer but an answer any simple person who doesn't have a PhD in Computer Medicine can understand. Thank you kind person, now I can play my sims.

I already got that update before i tried to sign in to the client and i'm still in offline mode, i even had trouble signing in here, then there was a message at the top of the page saying there was a problem with the ea online services

i'll just check if i can go online now...... yes it has now fixed itself

@EA_Darko non of this does a thing. it is still locked into offline mode.

@doooogs99 when a random dude (no judging nor offense) can fix it while EA can´t....says enough about the poor quality of the launcher...
