dogs growl at each other when told to mate

in the sims 4, i am trying to get my dog to mate with a dog in another household. i’ll invite the dog over and then i tell my dog to mate with the other one, my dog goes over to the other, and then they just growl at each other. i have a good relationship with both dogs. what’s happening???

@TheGradesYou can use the "Be nice to" interaction under the "Friendly" menu to get the dogs to like each other more. You're also more likely to be successful if you are companions with the animals.
