Why has there never been a real attempt to make a true Track and Field game

I get it, Track & Field is not one of the 4 major sports in the US and most people only pay attention to it every 4 years during the summer Olympics. But the market for the video game would be quite big if EA would pick up the project.

Track is a unisex sport that has a competition from age 7 world wide, which opens the doors for girls to be actually interested in a sports video game. Most athletes that play other sports most likely ran track middle school or high school. So the same sports nerds that buy Madden, NBA Live, and Fifa will buy this game as well. Unlike the Olympics Video games, this game can include every Track & Field event including relays which can alloy co-op, even online co-op. There are many professional leagues, like the Diamond League that can be included.

Please reply.

Time to pull out the old Nintendo Entertainment System again, I loved this game:

Certainly would be nice to see a good modern version :-)

@Ace7133 Hyper Sports R seems the closest thing. It's an upcoming Switch title by the same developer as the game above, though it doesn't have a release date yet.
