The Godfather 2 won't launch.

So I bought The Godfather 2 physically from someone whose already played it on his PC. I installed the game on my laptop, ran the serial code which worked and everything was fine. However, every time I try to launch the game I get the error "The game can not start. There seems to be a problem contacting the license server. Ensure internet connection is active and try again in a few minutes".

I know this game is pretty old but I really wanna play it again. I would really appreciate your help!

I am having the exact same issue disabling firewall and antivirus didn't help

Also having same problem. I did a factory restore didnt help. Same message. Im Running windows 7

Same problem here. I downloaded it from Origin with my original cd-key. Installed it without problems, but get the same message when I lauch.

@jeaubaer234 Same here. EA support hasnt been super helpful. Tried redeeming the disk code through origin, but the issue still persists.

Seems like you have to go into the file and manually launch godfather2.exe to make it work
