Alice: Madness Returns won't launch [ Edited ]

So i recently borrowed a physical copy of Alice madness returns and i finished the installation. The wizard then says it has to check the game release date but each time it tries to, it always returns as failed.

Edit- i managed to get passed the release date check by changing my pc's time back to 2012. The problem now is that i have a used validation code that wont let me play the game. Apparently there's some way to bypass this since it says it on the pamphlet in the CD case but i cant figure it out since the previous pc it was installed on no longer has the game installed.
