This has been going on for a few days..
Occasionally, I'll be able to join a game but it will kick me off after a while with the same error message (akin to Connection to EA failed)
Anybody else having this issue?

@teomat410 In that case the next thing I'd try would be to reinstall the local content. Perhaps one of the game files is damaged and when the game tries to access it, things crash out and give a generic error message?

@teomat410 Hi, I currently can't see evidence of a widespread outage so it's worth checking for local issues to start with.
Can you try power cycling your router as a first step?

I did cycle power to the router yesterday, however it did not resolve the connection issue.
Is there anything else I can try?

(BF1943 is pretty much the only game I play

I also have BF:Bad Company. I can play multiplayer there without any issues. That rules out any network related issues. The problem is specific to BF 1943.
Given this new information - can you advise about additional steps?
