Battlefield Hardline silencer

Hi Experts,

All I want to know is in the single player version how I make a silencer work on a gun or handgun? I have picked in the weapon toolbox, but it's still loud and the crooks hear me. I have seen it used on YouTube, but I don't know how to turn it on or if I'm missing something to make it work.

I had the game on PS3, but refound it for my PS5 and it's here by my 3rd playthrough I found out that it's possible to use a silencer one the handgun or one of them (I might use the wrong one)
