Battlefield 2 Not Starting [ Edited ]

Hi,

So I recently dug out my old copy of Battlefield 2: Deluxe Edition and have installed the game and patches 1.4 & 1.5. 

However when i launch the game, 1) it asks for the disc to be inserted and 2) when i do insert the disc the splash screen shows (logo with the tank) bu then disappears and nothing happens. I am running it in compatibility mode for WinXP SP3 and as admin but still nothing. All help would be appreciated.
