Battlefield 2 Login problems

When I try to log in to Battlefield 2, I get this message: "There was a database error, please try again."  Each time I try to log in, I get the same message.  How do I repair this?

You can not repair it. Servers have been down since Gamespy's shutdown.

You can continue to play Battlefield 2 (as well as Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2142, and Battlefield Vietnam) on GameRanger.

u have to go to bf2hub.com and download the new servers that run bf2 due gamespy shutting down  the other day. download it then register ur key with them and ur stats will be there when u click on ur original bf2 icon on ur desktop...
