Battlefield 1942 on Windows 10 64-Bit System - Won't launch

I tried every possible online solution then came across this and it worked: 

1. open control panel go to programs 

2. click turn windows features on or off

3. make sure there is a check in the legacy components

4. click the + to expand 

5. check the box for direct play

That worked for me

Tried every fix on this thread and nothing has worked. patches, direct play, ect…. 

Have the original 1942 anthology on cd. Used to work great on my xp and 7 machines.

It won't even do anything, no process being started when the exe is clicked.(i installed the game via EA most wanted version)

hello and thanks for the help, my game battlefield is working perfect,, but he package that i bought also bring the battlefield Vietnam ww2. and it is not working...do you have a patch for this one please...thanks a lot
