Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? The Newest One
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Every time I open Origin my game always says that I need to update or "Update available". I have updated the game multiple times. I've always refreshed my folder/files.
What happens when the bug occurs? Every time I open Origin.
What do you expect to see? The game says "Update available". Every time I update the game, it says I have to update it again. In Origin I have the sims 4 and the sims 4 deluxe, when I update one the other says it needs to be updated and then if I try to play the game gets very laggy.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No (Just the newest sims 4 patch realease)

@Moonabeth There was an issue with Origin where some players didn't see the update at all, which is now solved. That's not your issue, obviously, but since something was fixed on the EA side, it's worth trying again.
If that doesn't help, the only other suggestion I have is to uninstall Sims 4 and Origin, the latter using this method:

and reinstall both. You would then not need to update; Origin would download the current version of the game.

@Moonabeth Please run the Origin reset tool (under the spoiler):
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
and repair the game: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon that's showing the game needs to be updated, and select Repair.
