Hi,
I'm on Mac Origin too, having the exact same issue as well!
TS4 is not updating despite re-installing Origin, the game itself, removing the EA folder from Documents, logging off from Origin. It doesn't display any available update. I can't send an error report, it says that I'm offline despite being online and my internet connection being completely fine !
Please help, a lot of Mac users on Twitter are experiencing the same issue too.

I have the same issue. I was running Origin in offline mode before the patch came out because I didn’t want to update yet, but it kept crashing so I went back online to update.
Update never came through and manually updating just says the game is up to date.
I kept experiencing constant crashing and lag while playing last night too which doesn’t normally happen!

Origin failed to auto update my game when I opened it today. Here's a full list of everything I've done.
1: Update game manually.
2: Repair Game
3: Reset origin
4: Purposefully break TS4 by removing the unix executable from the package/contents/macOS file, then repair.
5: Delete the game and reinstall everything.
I also had removed my original Electronic Arts file from my documents folder (not iCloud documents, local) to my desktop. Upon opening the game again, GameVersion.txt would still generate as 1.99.305.1220.
On a discord server I was in, I was told to add filters to my antivirus. Firstly, I don't think that's possible with the one I have (intego virusbarrier), and secondly, the filters they told me to add were either
1) C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Origin.exe
2) C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin_Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_x64.exe
3) C:\Program Files (x86)Origin_Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin_LE\TS4.exe
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_x64.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4\Game\Bin_LE\TS4_x64.exe
When I asked for instructions for Mac users, I was told to do the filters for Origin, despite the fact that I obviously do not have any .exe files, not a C: drive, and as far as I can tell I don't have a Program Files (x86) folder, and I don't know what the equivalent path would be.
If at all possible (and if it would help) I would like to do this. If it wouldn't, I'd like to know what would fix the issue and allow me to play on the latest version of the game.

Hey all,
We're looking to gather your Origin log files to help us with this investigation.
Please follow these steps to gather your Origin logs:
1. In Finder, click on Go, then press the Option key and the Library folder appears
2. From Library, navigate to Application Support/Origin/Logs to find the Origin logs
3. Attach the "Client Log" files in the Logs folder to this thread
If you need further help locating your Library folder, please see the following video provided by @Bluebellflora:
Please attach your logs to this thread so we can continue to investigate this issue. Thanks everyone!

I’ve been playing the Sims 4 for YEARS and I’ve never encountered this problem. I’ve done all of the necessary steps:
1. Restart computer
2. Clear Origin cache
3. Uninstall and redownload Origin
but none of this typical fixes have worked. Any ideas?
I was told to be more specific: I can’t get Origin to recognize that there’s a Sims 4 update (the updated that came out on 9/5/23). No notification or anything to indicate that an update came out either.

Ah, didn't think of that, will do that now
Edit: just tried that, got a message that a zip file was an "unsupported file extension" so sending the log files that way isn't an option.
