UPDATE: I followed the steps on this video and the repair seems to have worked! It still took a while though but didn't freeze up the rest of my computer. I haven't play tested Sims yet to see if it's actually fixed the lagging issue, but it seems to have fixed Origin.
Also, after I started the repair again I went back into the 'Common Files' folder and EAInstaller was hidden again even though I'd just made it visible, so double check if yours does that too. I also left my Windows Defender Firewall down whilst I did this repair just in case.

this video helped me! essentially the installer file got hidden so origin cannot access it!

Update 2: Game is 'repaired' on Origin but after attempting gameplay it's still lagging and freezing - so after all that repearing the game made no difference for me.

I too am having the same exact issue, and it is NOT my brand new gaming laptop. Its in fact the last update to the The Sims 4...my game is working great except for the ongoing loading...in which a Sim guru replied to repair the game. Well Origin doesn't repair since the last update and the error code pops up on certain packs. I can play but I can not visit with other Sins...its a shame we are blamed for faulty apps after all this money that we invest in just to play what we have grown to love.

I too, have faced this issue since the last update and patch. I used mods - removed them, uninstalled and reinstalled the game - game failed to repair - keeps coming up with these error codes - different pack each time. Ive left the computer run over 24 hours now and still incomplete. My main issue besides the lagging, is i cannot place ANY BEDS, LOUNGE CHAIRS OR KITCHEN COUNTERS with a script call failure. I give up! My computer is also brand new, had a tech guru get it for me - said it will run sims 100 times over - nope.... MUST be origin. Never had issues like this in the past.
